Metter Middle School
was recognized as a Math Leader School for High School Achievement, exceeding the criteria of 90% or more of their 8th grade students who took high school-level algebra scoring Proficient and Above on the Georgia Milestones End-of-Course (EOC) Assessment. In fact, 100% of MMS 8th grade students achieved Proficient and Above.
“MMS exemplifies our goal of continuous improvement for student learning, achievement, and growth,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. CaDeisha Cooper. "I commend the hard work of the students, their teacher, Ms. Bennett King, administrators and families to reach this high level of growth and achievement in mathematics.”
A total of 624 schools across Georgia met the qualifications to be recognized as Math Leaders. Throughout the fall, State Superintendent Richard Woods will visit schools identified as Math Leaders to recognize and congratulate them.
Math Leader qualifications are based on students achieving the Proficient Learner level or above on the Georgia Milestones mathematics assessments.
